Dear SSDM Community,

I extend a cordial and heartfelt welcome to you as you commence your academic journey within the Bachelor's Program in Smart Sustainable Development and Management (SSDM) at National Taipei University. In my role as the Director of SSDM, it is a privilege to convey the profound mission and visionary objectives that serve as the foundation of our program.

In the contemporary world, the repercussions of climate change have come into sharp focus, compelling a collective realization of the pressing need for adept individuals who can grapple with these challenges. Governments, industries, corporations, discerning consumers, and investors are all awakening to the paramount significance of sustainability and its indispensable role in shaping our shared destiny.

The inception of the SSDM program was guided by an ambitious mission – to nurture the vanguard of global leadership in sustainable development. With meticulous deliberation, we have meticulously crafted our program around three central pillars:

Interdisciplinary Pedagogy: Our curriculum transcends conventional academic boundaries, offering a holistic framework that seamlessly amalgamates insights from economics, environmental studies, management, social sciences, and information science. This interdisciplinary bedrock furnishes our students with a profound comprehension of the multifaceted challenges of sustainability.

Embracing the Vanguard of Industry Trends: In a world of constant flux, our program remains steadfast at the forefront of the latest industry trends. This steadfastness ensures that our students are meticulously prepared to confront paramount issues, such as climate change mitigation and the attainment of net-zero emissions.

Integrating Artificial Intelligence and Big Data: Recognizing the transformative potential of technology in addressing sustainability dilemmas, our program integrates state-of-the-art artificial intelligence and big data methodologies with sustainable finance and management principles. This synergy empowers our graduates to make judicious, data-informed, and environmentally conscientious decisions.
