Applications for the SSDM Scholarship (2026 Fall – 2027 Spring) are now open until June 30.
SSDM Scholarship Application (2026 Fall - 2027 Spring)
*A* Eligibility: Full-time international students currently enrolled in the SSDM Program are eligible to apply. Applicants must have maintained a GPA of at least 75 in the past two semesters (2025 Fall and 2026 Spring). Students who have exceeded the standard four-year undergraduate study period, or who are expected to exceed it in the next academic year, are not eligible for this scholarship.
*B* Application Materials: Applicants must prepare and submit the following materials.
(1) Academic transcript
Please submit your academic transcript for your entire period of study at NTPU, preferably in PDF format. Do not worry if some grades from the current semester have not yet been released. We will automatically update your grades during the break once all course instructors have submitted them.
(2) Student report or résumé/CV
Students currently in their first year (freshman) or second year (sophomore) must submit a 1–3 page student report in PDF format. The report should preferably be single-spaced with 1-inch margins. In the report, please describe your academic engagement and learning efforts over the past two semesters, both inside and outside the classroom. For example:
- Academic learning and effort in coursework
- Awards, certificates, or skills obtained
- Participation in competitions
- Presentations at conferences or meetings
- Participation in seminars or workshops, including those organized by SSDM or by your course instructors
- Involvement in student activities, student services, or other forms of campus/community service
Students currently in their third (junior) year must submit either a well-crafted résumé (normally 1–2 pages) or a curriculum vitae (CV) (normally 2–4 pages). Please choose only one to submit! This document should be prepared in a format suitable for job applications or graduate school applications. Before preparing your document, make sure you understand the difference between a résumé and a CV and review good examples!
Please note that if you participated in competitions or presented papers as part of a group, you must clearly explain your own contribution somewhere in your report or résumé/CV.
(3) Example of academic work
Please attach at least one, but no more than two, term papers or homework assignments from courses taken in the current or previous semester. The files should preferably be submitted in PDF format. Please note the following:
- You are strongly encouraged to submit work that you believe best represents your academic performance and reflects the core areas or topics of SSDM.
- Group assignments may also be submitted. However, if you submit a group assignment, you must clearly explain your own contribution on the front page.
- If your term paper has been further revised and has been presented or published, or is expected to be presented or published, in a conference, meeting, or booklet, please indicate this clearly.
(4) [Optional] Short video
Applicants may submit an optional 1–3 minute video sharing their campus life in the SSDM Program at NTPU. Please note that submission of the video is optional.
*C* Additional Guidelines for Preparing Your Materials
- Please email all required materials to ssdm@gm.ntpu.edu.tw . Email Title Format: [2026 Fall Scholarship Supporting Work_Student ID_Name]
- Application Period: June 1, 2026 – June 30, 2026
- If you use AI to help prepare your application materials, or if any of your submitted learning materials, such as term papers, homework, projects, competition-related work, or conference papers, were completed with the assistance of AI, you must clearly and honestly disclose how AI was used.
- Scholarship results will be announced after last semester’s grades are released and after the program committee meeting has been held.
- In addition, you must maintain good academic standing during the scholarship period. This includes passing all courses and maintaining satisfactory performance on midterm exams, final exams, homework assignments, and other course requirements. Otherwise, your scholarship for the second semester, such as **2027 Spring**, may be terminated based on your academic performance in the previous semester, namely **2026 Fall**.
- Please note that when the program committee is in the procedure of reviewing your academic transcript, they will look not only at your average GPA over the past two semesters, but also at what specific courses you have taken. This includes checking whether you have successfully completed all required and recommended courses for your year level and whether you received satisfactory grades in those courses. If the courses you took over the past two semesters are significantly different from those typically taken by other SSDM students in the same cohort, please provide a clear explanation. For example, this may include situations where you are pursuing a double major or have taken particularly heavy or advanced quantitative courses. You should also provide an explanation if you feel that your grades or credits require further clarification.
